Top 15 Cereals
Anyone who knows me, knows of my love for cereal. I can eat cereal any time of day or as a substitute for any meal. Hell, in college I basically lived on cereal. To this day, I will eat a bowl of cereal as a midnight snack or for dinner (provided I have not stale milk). I am a cereal lover. Lover, I say.

15. Trix
I just like the fact that the cereal is in the shape of the fruit it is supposed to be. That's funny to me.

14. Lucky Charms
I actually wrote a post about Lucky Charms (8-4-04, Magically Messed Up) and how thy have changed the number of marshmallows. I loved the old cereal, but am not sure how I really feel about it nowadays. It is a classic, thus earning a place on my list.

13. Honey Nut Cheerios
Another classic. I always prefer the HoneyNut to regular. Regular tastes like cardboard to me.

12. Raisin Bran

Another classic (with a little sugar added). When eating, I try to balance out the raisins to the flakes. It's a tragedy to end up with a bowl full of raisins and no flakes.

11. Coco Puffs
Making a sport of turning white milk to chocolate. What could be more morning fun?

10. Froot Loops

Tuscan Sam really sells this for me. A bird with a rainbow beak who sells cereal. Who ever thought that up? And who was the guy in the boardroom who was like, "That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. We should use a tiger."

9. Cookie Crisp

What can we say here? Cookies. For. Breakfast. And the dog with his, "Caaa ooooookie Crisp."

8. Applejacks
I always think this is a healthy cereal. It's apples, after all.

7. Cinnamon Toast Crunch
My mom always bought this for my brother and I. We ate this every morning for years and years. And actually, it is pretty good. My favorite part was after it got slightly soggy because the flakes were always really hard until they soaked up some milk.

6. Granola
Only recently has this become one of my top cereals. I will sit down with a bowl of granola for a snack or a meal. With or without raisins, it is inexpensive, filling, and delicious.

5. Frosted Flakes
They're great. It's true.

4. Honey Bunches of Oats
My dad's cereal. As kids we always thought it was horrible, but now if I ever get tired of eating sugar puff madness, I eat this cereal. My only complaint is that it must be eating quickly because the flakes are small and thin, so they get soggy very quickly. I solve this problem by always eating this out of a smaller bowl.

3. Reese Puffs
Lisa and I lived on Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and Reese Puffs almost my entire Sophomore year. This cereal is amazing. By far, my favorite sugar/chocolate based cereal. I was actually involved in the market research for this cereal. One random summer day at Kings Island my friend Eric and I got asked to eat some cereal and we made $5.

2. Pops
I think I like Pops as much as I do because it is not too sweet but still tastes good. I have no idea how they actually make those little fluff explosions, but damn they are good. Also, this is a great snacking cereal.

1. Clusters
I am not sure if anyone else has heard of this cereal, but I can rarely find it in the store. Clusters is my Grandpa's favorite cereal and we would always get to eat it when we visited, so it has a special place in my heart. Even this most recent visit, I had some for breakfast. It is not a sugary cereal, mainly just flakes. Like a better version of Honey Bunches of Oats. But what makes it great are the "clusters" - these little nutty balls of goodness. If anyone remembers, they had the commercials where the squirrels would steal the guys box of Clusters.

Other favorites: Kix, Fruity Pebbles, Frosted Mini Shredded Wheat, Wheaties

Comments:

Is clusters the one with the commercial with the squirrels where they always steal the cereal? Those squirrels were pretty freaky.
