Lightsabers 101

In honor of Revenge of the Sith coming out one week from today, I present a great article I read about how a lightsaber works. And just for those of you who don't give a damn about Star Wars, the article is pretty funny - for example, the final section of the article is about domestic uses of lightsabers including preparing your breakfast.
"The big advantage of using a lightsaber, of course, is that you can both cut and toast the bagel in one stroke."

That whole "cut and toast" thing is the exact same line from "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." I saw it last night and they had these little lightsabre-esque kitchen knives.
