Problem: When I dial 411 from my cel it costs $1.25 per usage.

Solution: You can dial 411 from a pay phone for free and then punch the number into your cel phone to make the actual call. If you dial 411, the system comes on and says, "For Directory Assistance, please dial 1 then the area code then 555-1212." And it works.

Outcome: With this strategy, I've found the "411 loop-hole," and provided there is a pay phone near me, 411 will never take my hard-earned $1.25 ever again.
